A Copper Canyon Journey by rail is a spectacular trip among towering peaks of Mexica's Sierra
Madre, still inhabited by Atarahumara Indians famed for speed that lets them hunt deer
by running them down on foot. It took over 90 years to build the railroad through 87 tunnels and over 37 bridges
anchored in the rock hundreds of feet below, climbing to 8,000 feet
where the backdrop of the Sierra Madre rises another 5,000 feet. It is a Journey by Rail through awesome grandeur
that is almost
unchanged since the start of time.

PRIVATE CAR JOURNEYS
Journey times, routes, unconfirmed fares (prices) and Cars are subject
to change without notice
Routes: Self sufficient Private Cars provide 2 bedrooms
(including accommodations for 3 passengers in one of them), dining, lounge, exclusive crew, and can operate on any
of the above or other selected Journey routes.
Fares: For fares on normal routes for up to 5 passengers in 2
bedrooms go to any of the vacations under the
above "Select a Journey" list. For other selected routes contact Reservations.
Alternative Routes: Other Private Car Journey routes can be scheduled with
sufficient advance notice.
Dates and Duration: Private Car Journeys are normally for 8 days and
7 nights but can be for any number of days based on Car availability and the time between a reservation and a
desired departure date.
Reservations: Although Private Cars are available and departures may
be possible on shorter notice, at times arrangements with Amtrak
and other travel requirements may have to be made up 6 or more months in advance.
